Presentation synopsis:

PrEP in woman

Women constitute more than half of all people living with HIV. One in three women will experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime which can also influence access to health care. Daily oral PrEP is effective in preventing HIV in women. However, many countries are still lacking person centered services and sufficient demand for PrEP among women. There are more than 2000 people currently on PrEP in Ukraine and women constitute around 10% of all patients. Demand creation and new models of service delivery, like PrEP through family physicians; OBGs; STI clinics; services for vulnerable women and HIV related services in conflict zones may be considered to improve access to PrEP for women at risk of acquiring HIV.
