People living with HIV need life-long care. Some come with one, others come with many problems to the clinic: health issues always, but very often also mental and social issues. This easily overloads physicians, who may only have time to monitor and prescribe treatment. In complex situations, the service that is required for a patient is very comprehensive. Doctors need to create a solid basis of trust with the patient. A stigma-free environment of the clinic is paramount. A one-stop shop model to deliver a comprehensive care package is key to deliver adequate care.
